We did some shopping in this bakery while we waited for Kabob Grill n Go next-door, to open and to complete our order. We'll have to eat here next time we are in town because the food that the servers were bringing out looked amazing, and the minute we walked into the bakery everything smelled so good. There's a little market to the right when you walk in. To the left are the cold cases, pastry cases and register for ordering with tables near the front window. There is also more seating to the left if you are eating at the bakery. The first thing that caught our eye was the fresh baked pita and lavash coming out hot and set on racks by the entrance. We grabbed a couple packs of that. We also grabbed some red pepper hummus and jalapeño hummus from the refrigerator case made fresh in-house. We ordered some grape leaves (comparably delicious to the homemade grape leaves our Pakistani neighbor would make us in California. Those are the best we've ever tasted and these were very good), some spinach pies (no pictures because we ate them while we were waiting for our food and they were delicious), some tabouli that we tried at home and was very fresh and good, a house made rose water lemonade, and an Arabic coffee. They've got a full lunch menu here with meat dishes and everything so you could easily eat a well balanced meal plus dessert at the bakery. All of the meat and salad dishes coming from the kitchen looked amazing. The lady who helped us at the register was very nice and as we hung out and enjoyed our food, we saw that the line started to grow and could tell this was a popular spot Downtown. Glad we got to enjoy some treats here before picking up our order next-door. The bread and dipping sauces went perfectly with our kabob meat and rice tray we took home.

THIS is the place! Go get some very authentic tasty food now. The owner is on site as apparently he has been for ove 60 years!

Very kind staff, down-to-earth setting. Mediterranean restaurant with halal food from around the Levant, and they have a very large menu! I checked it out simply for halal food, expecting to order to-go and leave, but stayed and chatted with the owners for hours afterwards! Great for all, but also a must-visit if you're Middle Eastern for its familiar hospitality! Helpful Note: The parking is apparently better to find around the back, not facing the street.

SUCH a gem! Apparently my husband has been coming here for years, but I didn't even know this place existed until last week when he proposed we visit for lunch with some family visiting from out of town. I love the combination of restaurant and grocery store. While we were waiting for our food to be prepared, I went browsing through the aisles and found a ton of fun goods that I haven't seen since our trip to Turkey a few years back. The shawarma wrap and tabouli were so good that we ended up buying frozen moussaka and pastichio as well as the best baklava I've ever had from the grocery section to eat a few days later! The people who work here are also incredibly sweet - my 9 month old was staring in awe at some balloons that we saw inside so my husband asked how much for a balloon - turns out it was one of the worker's birthdays! She gave our baby one of her own balloons for free. It was so nice of her! Can't wait to come back! This one's going on my "best of Phoenix" list.

Walked in and found this place on accident tbh and I am glad we did! When you walk in you see the little market with different foreign products, good selection to try new stuff. Go to the back and you'll see a menu and pastries on display. We were greeted by a nice women. We got the food in like 10 minutes and it came out fresh! The fresh baklava is amazing!!! Some of the best I've had for a while! The chicken was juicy , the steak was tender and cooked right and the mix was also full of flavor. It came with salad and rice and both had great flavor! The ambiance was pretty relaxed and they had a couple people at tables but found a table easily. It is a market mix with some food so it's not an actual restaurant but the food is fresh and good and I would definitely go back. Everyone enjoyed the food and food runner was super friendly as well.
